James also serves as a member of Medtronic’s executive management team.

Previously, James was vice president and CIO at Georgia Pacific. Our emcee is Miss Georgia, a KMOJ on-air personality, born Georgia Ellyse McClellon, started in performing arts at an early age. She starred in church plays in elementary school and continued on to be featured in Penumbra Theater’s 2005 summer Institute performance. Through her desire to be connected to what is most meaningful to her, Miss Georgia began hosting an online radio show at Saint Thomas where she found tremendous satisfaction and so decided to pursue an internship with KMOJ.

As the On-Air light goes off Miss Georgia fulfills her goals of serving the community by actively occupying the president chair of the board of director’s of a non-profit organization in Saint Paul and by working closely with local politicians on various campaigning objectives.

We will recognize an IT Black Professional, IT Business Enterprise of the Year and young people who participated in the 2010 Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) Twin Cities Community Youth Technology programs, the BDPA National High School Computer Competition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Community IT Youth camp.  We will celebrate our high school competition team taking eighth in the nation in July, 2010 at the National BDPA High School Computer Competition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The BDPA-Twin Cities Foundation is a 501c3 organization.  More information about BDPA can be obtained from the national website, www.bdpa.org and our local chapter at www.bdpatc.org.

BDPA TWIN CITIES

BDPA - Twin Cities Chapter is a member focused organization that serves the professional well-being of its stakeholders. BDPA remains committed to excellence and providing a wide spectrum of resources to members, corporate sponsors, businesses, educational institutions and the community. The organization is a catalyst for professional growth and technical development for those in the IT industry.

Our Community Youth Technology Program continues to grow and strengthen. It’s free and available to all that have a true passion for technology. No student excluded. We continue to expand offerings serving a variety of educational levels (beg. to adv.).  Students become comfortable with “being Nerdy”.

Our program is held on Saturdays and we have a great group of dedicated volunteers (instructors, parents, corp. employees).  Classes are exciting and learn programming, analysis, design, project management, and team building skills.  They gain exposure to “real world/real people” weekly seminars covering: gaming, robotics, futuristic concepts, college experience, requirements, & scholarships.
